A Ghoul's Fear

My Entry for Short Challenge #13 - Special Halloween For this piece I wanted to explore the universality of fear. In order to do this, I chose a common fear, the fear of death. I then used a character to represent death. This became the Ghoul in the final piece. Then, I thought about what this character might fear. This fear I represented with merely a shadow in order to emphasize the dark mystery that we all seem to fear in some form or another. This piece suggests that there truly is "nothing to fear but fear, itself," for even those whom we fear are afraid of something.
